Weather and history

The app shows current weather, a seven-day forecast and daily maximum comparisons with the same calendar date in earlier years. “Today warmer” or “today colder” compares the selected day’s maximum with the selected year, not necessarily the current instantaneous temperature.

ERA5 is a model-based reanalysis of the area, not a measurement from one weather station. Data and availability have limitations. SkyRewind is not a weather-warning service and must not be used for safety decisions.

Why is history being prepared?

For a new location the service prepares and stores shared data. This may take several minutes or be deferred until free quotas renew. You do not need to keep the app open. Forecasts may appear before the comparison; incomplete coverage and stale data are labelled in the app.

Locations, permissions and language

Version 1.0: you can search locations worldwide and save up to five cities plus the GPS location; your home location remains fixed. Version 1.0.1: first launch offers your current GPS location and, with your permission, GPS mode updates the place as you move while using the app; it does not present a list of favourite locations. Checks run in the foreground, not while the app is closed.

You may deny location permission or revoke it in iOS Settings. If you deny GPS permission, you can choose one town manually in version 1.0.1 and view its weather without adding other locations or favourites. The manual town stays fixed; you can replace it, but it is not GPS-detected. To return to your current location, use the GPS control or re-enable permission in iOS Settings and reopen the app.

The reminder also requires a separate choice and is optional: you may turn it off in the app or revoke its permission. The reminder is local, not a live weather alert.

The app uses Italian when the system language is Italian, otherwise English; this can be changed in app settings. For support, email the contact above with the app version, iPhone model, location and date of the issue. Do not include passwords or unnecessary private coordinates.
